Bio of Mathew Tschirgi

Mathew Tschirgi is a Junior attending the Savannah College of Art & Design(AKA SCAD). He is majoring in Computer Art with a concentration in Game Development & Interactivity. Aside from attending college, he is also a writer and co-founder of the humorous film and video-game criticism site E-Boredom. He also is a member of the Georgia College Press Association and has written for two college newspapers: Georgia State University's The Signal and the SCAD District.

Born in Salinas, California, he spent six years of his childhood living in Latin America countries: Guatemala, El Salvador, and Argentina. He has been playing video games since he was 4 years old and has owned a variety of console gaming systems such as the Atari, NES, SNES, PSX, PS-2, and a GameCube.

Although he started programming simple games in Q-BASIC when he was 13, in high school he acted in several plays. In 1999, he became a member of Walton High School's Thespian Troupe. He also took several courses in the Mass Media department, learning about shot composition, video editing on a VHS to VHS control deck, and filming in a 2-camera news-broadcast environment.

In college, he has taken a wide variety of courses such as Survey of British Literature, Advanced Screenwriting, Intro to Video, Intro to Game Design & Interactivity, Acting I, and Design for Moving Media. He looks forward to working as a game/level designer in the video game industry in the near future.
